USING THE TOOL

Invisible character checker, explained.

  1. Paste text that looks right but behaves unexpectedly.
  2. Inspect it to reveal marked characters and their code points.
  3. Use the report to locate suspicious characters in your original editor.

This is a diagnostic view. Zero-width joiners and variation selectors can be essential to emoji or language shaping, so nothing is deleted from your original. The report marks selected invisible and control characters, not every visually similar Unicode character. It is not a security scanner. Line and column positions count Unicode code points, starting at 1; CRLF is one line break.

Should I remove every character it finds?

No. Non-breaking spaces, joiners, direction marks and variation selectors can be intentional. Review them in context before changing text.
