04 / CLEAN UP
Remove duplicate lines.
Turn a repeated list into unique lines, in the order they first appeared.
USING THE TOOL
Remove duplicate lines, explained.
- Paste one item per line.
- Choose whether spaces and letter case should affect matching.
- Remove duplicates and copy the unique list.
The first matching line is kept and later matches are removed. Unicode is normalized to NFC for comparison, so visually identical accented text with different encodings can match. Trimming changes the output as well as the comparison. The tool does not validate email addresses, merge similar spellings or split CSV columns.
Does it rearrange the list?
No. Unique items keep their original order. Use the line sorter if you also need alphabetical order.
